I love to be outside all summer long. From hiking, to kayaking, to taking long walks, I am always outside in the heat! One thing that I have learnt the hard way, is that you NEED to hydrate when you are exercising outside! It is so important to replace lost water and electrolytes so that you can feel your best.
I have recently started making this healthier gatorade, and I absolutely love it! While I love the taste of Vitamin Water and Gatorade, I know that they are full of artificial sweeteners, flavors and colors.
This recipe is natural and delicious, and will refuel and rehydrate your body with electrolytes and sodium. This drink would also be perfect for active kids!
The coolest part about this recipe is that you can get creative and make it any flavor! You can use any type of 100% juice to flavor the drink and add a little natural sugar, which will keep you energized in the heat. For this recipe, I used 100% cherry juice that I found at my grocery store, and mixed in some lime juice to make a delicious cherry lime flavor!
Here are some flavor combinations that you could try:
- Lemon lime
- Cherry lime
- Grape
- Orange
- Pomegranate
- Coconut pineapple
